First week of classes

After a weekend with their host families, students arrived on Monday morning ready for their first day of classes.  They attend classes in smaller groups of 7-8 students, but everyone has the same classes: Linguistics and Pronunciation, Grammar and Communication, and Culture and Literature.  After morning announcements, we head upstairs to our three classrooms and start our day.

We have two classes in the morning before heading down to the dining room. Lunch at the Igloo is cafeteria-style, and the instructors have already received compliments on how polite and well-mannered our IUHPFL students are! Although not as long as some French lunches, it is nice to have a relaxed 65 minutes to relax a bit mid-day.  :)

After lunch, it's time for the last class of the day, followed by activities ranging from music and art to theater and sports. Today was our first sports activity, and we walked to a park together where everyone found something they enjoyed doing with their friends while basking in the beautiful weather.  Having some trouble uploading pictures, but I will get them posted as soon as I can!
