We are ready to see you all soon at the United check-in desk at 4:40 pm this afternoon.  Students should have their passports handy and wear their IUHPFL t-shirt to the airport.  A bientôt!

Hope you enjoy this glimpse of the last days of IUHPFL Saint Brieuc 2023!  We spent much of the last week getting ready for the Farewell show, the Program Magazine, and our trip to Paris.   The Farewell Show This is such an incredibly talented and creative group, and the host families were absolutely wowed by the student performances!  We can't wait for them to see the original artwork, poetry, open letters, and pages of pure fun in the magazine that the students created.  As a preview, though, here is the cover for Wednesday night's show with calligraphy by Sophia and artwork by Ana -- all completed in a short 20 minutes.  😳 The show was absolutely amazing, and the host families commented on how impressed they were not only by how talented the students were, but also their willingness to share those talents in front of an audience. ...

Sunday picnic, school visit and celebrating the 4th of July at City Hall

After our overnight excursion to Normandy, it was back home to St. Brieuc and host families.  Some families participated in the optional Sunday picnic at the Plage des Rosaires, a beach near St. Brieuc that was a great spot for lunch and some outdoor fun! On Monday, it was another Community event -- this time visiting a local school, where we gave a presentation about Indiana, watched a dance performance by the French students, and learned a kids' game (sort of like dodgeball) that we then played outside on the lawn.  It was a great exchange! On Tuesday July 4th, we were invited to a formal reception at the St. Brieuc city hall, where we were able to visit the Mayor's office before heading to the reception hall for speeches (by Laëtitia - our onsite coordinator,  student, a teacher, and the Mayor-adjunct for Culture). Our last week in St. Brieuc has been all about "lasts".  The last Morning Activities session. The last class. The last sports afternoon. The last lunch at l'Igloo.  The last test. The last "Desserts Monday". The last free afternoon with friends... Students preparing and performing skits on proper French table etiquette.  We did not post photos of our first "Desserts" Monday, so we are posting those along with our second event, which took place this past Monday.  For this optional activity, host families and students were invited to make a traditional French dessert together, which the students then brought to school, presented, and shared with the group after classes ended. This was a great way for the kids to share a meaningful activity with their host families and for all of us to learn more about traditional French desserts!
